This job involves supporting trading-related activities from an Asset Management Operations perspective, focusing on ensuring that trades are efficiently processed, confirmed, and settled across various markets and products (such as Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, and Interest Rate Swaps (IRS)). Here's a breakdown of what the job entails: Primary Responsibilities:
- Holistic Ownership of Trading Activities:
You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the full lifecycle of trades, from initiation to settlement, ensuring that everything is processed accurately and on time. - Trade Confirmation & Settlement:
You'll handle confirming and settling trades across multiple markets and products, ensuring compliance with both internal and external cut-off times. This requires coordinating between multiple teams, brokers, custodians, and vendors to ensure that trades are settled without issues. - Trading Desk Support:
You will be the point of contact for any ad-hoc queries from the trading desk and participate in business initiatives. This means you will work closely with traders and other teams to resolve any operational issues that arise during trading activities. - Process Improvement:
You'll analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements. Working with management, you will help implement changes to optimize workflows, ensuring greater efficiency and reduced risk in trading operations. - Building Relationships:
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships is key. You'll work closely with trading desks, other internal operations teams, and external partners like brokers, custodians, and vendors to ensure smooth coordination and execution of trades.
- Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Operations or Middle Office roles within Financial Services. - Product Knowledge:
Operational experience in Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, or Interest Rate Swaps (IRS) is required. Understanding the intricacies of these products is essential for the role. - Self-Motivation & Ownership:
The role requires someone who is self-driven and proactive, able to take ownership of tasks, and ensure accountability in delivering results. - Communication Skills:
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are necessary, as you will be interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. - Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
